Have you checked the timing to see if'n it needs to be adjusted?

Maybe the timing doesn't need adjusting and you're just making work for...

Re: Terry Chapman Model A engine rebuilder.

I've seen that, the oil migrates out of the lubriplate and leaves the clay behind.

FWIW, I have a glass jar of lubriplate that's been sitting on the shelf for over 40 years, the oil is at the top...

Re: speedo cable lubrication??

I would remove the cable from the housing, clean both the cable and the housing interior w/solvent or diesel fuel, coat the cable w/chassis grease and re-install the cable in the housing making sure...

Re: oil lube circuit

There is also an "oil return" tube that returns excess oil from the rear of the valve chamber to the lower front of the block, where the oil flows into the dipper tray.

Also note that the engine...

Re: tell a Model A related story

I heard about a girl that was such a slow talker, that before she could say she wasn't that kind of a girl, she was.

Re: Hard Brake Pedal - Update on Post #9

Check the rear motor mounts.
I once had a Model A that the brake pedal was VERY hard to push, found that the rear motor mounts were not holding anything and the trans mission was sitting on the...

Re: Jumping a 6 volt battery

If you're running any electronics and 6 volt system it would be a good idea to avoid 12 volts for boosting unless the starter is isolated.

Re: Jumping a 6 volt battery

FWIW, 1-3/8" is the proper size for a Model A, but I've heard that some "crank nuts" are 1-5/16" and the one on my A is 1-1/4".
Not all Model As are created equal.
