If you are buying them at Home Depot, you should be. Just take the half used can back to HD return desk and they will give you a new can. Done it a coupla times with no problem. Don't forget to...

Re: Optima battery will only chug to 50%

It's probably fine. Is it faltering under load? They have different charging characteristics. What kind of charger are you using? Does it have a switch for AGM batteries?

Re: Electrical Fire Hazard.

You might want to replace that breaker with a lower amperage rating because it should "pop" with a load light that.

Re: Rubber fuel line failure

It's fine if you use FI fuel line. Modern FI systems use rubber all the time with no problems but you must use the proper hose.

Re: Battery Tender light vs Ammeter query

I fried my Battery Tender that way, by leaving it hooked up while running the engine. Their customer service told me never to do that. Nevertheless, they are going to send me a new one because it...

Re: Sacrificial Anode

I have used these in my motorhome hot water heater. They do leave allot of sentiment as they dissolve which is no problem because the water heaters have a sentiment drain at the bottom of the tank.

Re: Replacing Spring shackles/suggestions ?

This is no time to go cheap. Rent, buy or make a good spring spreader. I bought a nice commercial one and improved the ends for better nesting. I would never attempt it without a good quality...

Re: Big Claude Hoppers- Size 12

I wore big work shoes today and had a heck of a time. Thanks for the tips! Sometimes I wear a size 13 too. Seems like shoes are getting smaller, maybe my feet are just getting bigger. Back in...

Big Claude Hoppers- Size 12

I haven't driven my '40 much because my big feet and little pedals make it difficult. Those pedals are arranged for a woman with size 6 shoes. It is especially hard to hit the brake while avoiding...

Re: Removing oxidation from NOS radiator core

Also a phosphoric acid diluted with water will work great. That was the reason for using coke in the post above. You can find some in the paint department of any Home Depot. Also great for general...

Before buying, pull a main and rod cap to verify if its been ground too many times too. If he won't let you, walk.

Re: Removing Windshield On a '51 Wagon

Ended up just busting the windows out, then removing the rubber. Big mess but works. Couldn't cut that old brittle rubber much.

Re: Removing Windshield On a '51 Wagon

Rubber is too tough to cut. Used a linoleum razor knife and still too tough to cut. I did weaken it somewhat. Broke out the drivers side with a rubber mallet. Made a big mess but got it out. Will...

Re: Cleaning engine out in '40 Sedan

Either pull the engine and do it right or just keep changing oil. Shell Rotella has a higher detergent level because its a diesel oil. You might try that. I run it all the time in my flatheads.

Get it converted to modern electronics. Mine even works on a thumb drive with pre recorded music. Also no static.
