Thanks Ken, never heard of that. Sure beats taking it apart and installing new gasket.

If you already have the torque tube removed replace the clam shell 0-ring with this.

Wow Pete, you omitted lots of steps. To remove torque tube you have to pull the rear end.

It has been my experience that on a 40 Ford if you are referring to the gasket that fits between the rear of the torque tube and the rear end housing you need to remove the torque tube and drive...
