Re: Best Electric Fuel Pump?

Try an Airtex E8902. It's 6 volt 30GPH delivered at 2.5 -4.5 psi, which will work with the Stromberg or Holley downdrafts without a regulator. If you want a regulator to make certain of your...

Re: Cluster bearing solution?

According to Van Pelt's book the cluster gears used with loose rollers have a smaller ID than the earlier versions that use the caged roller bearings.

Re: Why is emergency brake not working?

I believe that the sector with the teeth on it is installed backwards.

Re: 28-29 RPU Door Sill

On the roadster sill plates all four holes are equadistant from the raised rib that follows the outer edge of the sill plate. On the open cab pickup sill plates the two rear holes are offset about...

Re: Lowering model A

I used a Fastenal steel spacer washer with an A wishbone and '36 axle; 0.250 thick; 0.636 ID /1.25 OD; PN33585. Price in 2018 was 2.49 each. I mounted mine between the bottom of the axle and the...

Re: clam shell interchangeability

If you are using the split, two-piece cross shaft from late 1928 I would strongly recommend that you change to the one-piece cross shaft. The so-called equalizer system with the two piece cross...

Re: Early 28 Engine

Has a forged rear main cap which is correct. Has a small-eared timing cover which is not correct. Should have a five bearing cam but you would need to remove the pan to verify.

Re: Model A only runs 40 miles

Check for vacuum leak at intake manifold where bolted to the engine block; simple and cost free, often the culprit for poor running. Squirt oil on the joint and see if it is pulled into the...

Re: Gap at wishbone to bell housing

The sleeves are supposed to hold the upper cap firmly against the bottom of the bell housing. I would look for some interference between the upper cap and bellhousing that is preventing the cap from...

49-53 Car and 51-54 Pickup Low-Reverse Sliding Gear

Very nice low-reverse slider for the early '50's three-speed side load transmissions. Has 16 helical splines internally and 28 teeth. Looks like the early V8 sliders but the spline is flatter and...

Free 1953-54 Pickup 3spd Mainshaft

I have a nice three-speed side load open drive mainshaft available. I got it with a lot of early V8 transmission parts and have no use for it, but it's way to nice to throw away. Part number is...

Re: ford B engine

Keep in mind that the hole behind the timing gear is there to keep the dipper tray full, not to oil the timing gear. If you want increased oil pressure to the mains but don't drill the crank for...

Re: Converting MD Clutch to a SD Clutch system...

A gentleman in California with a fine-point blue 1928 pickup truck used the early bellhousing, release shaft, and pedals together with a single disk flywheel that he modified for a nine-inch V8...
