Re: External oil filter - question on oil lines

Your engine uses a 1/4 NPT and a 1/8 NPT for output and oil return.
You have to determine what is used on whatever oil filter you have.

If you have a glass (or other) fuel bowl on the fuel pump, check the cork gasket. It could be cracked or not tight. Leaking gasket can cause fuel starvation because it will suck air not fuel.

Most likely an alignment correction done at sometime during it's lifetime whether new or later.
Put it back the way it was and get an alignment to insure it's correct.

Maybe it does not have drain plugs but do you in fact have leaks? and where are they?

Same thing happens on my '51 MerOmatic.
Keeping any seal "wet" is not a solution.
The only thing that stops the leak (other than major overhaul) on the floor is to watch the oil level as it rises...

Perhaps you could do what has been done many times over the years and that is get inside the trunk to view the operation and correct...
