Re: Model A rearend conversion

Agreed....my point was simply that the engine determined top speed, not the transmission. I'm running a B engine with an original CRAGAR head, hydraulic brakes, F-100 steering box and a host of other...

Re: Model A rearend conversion

Have had my T-5 for ten years and it has nothing to do with speed, engine modifications determine the increase in speed. I can run 75 MPH with a fifth gear overdrive without stressing the engine.

I have remote battery posts on both of my A's to make it east to use a trickle charge or jump start some poor soul. 12v of course. They're available from Speedway or NAPA

Re: Trailering ‘28 Model A Phaeton

In the time it's taken to read this thread, a roll back could have picked up the car and delivered it!

Re: Bone Stock or Modified?

One of the problems with threads like this is the lack of perspective. Take brakes for instance. Yes, you can "skid" all four tires with mechanical brakes. But how many times can you do that in...

Re: My wide-bed

Curious about the Weber side draft. Pictures? Did you make the manifold? How does it compare to the 32/36 down draft?

Re: So, ...how many Model-As can actually do the 'Three S's reliably?

Since March, I've been using my hot rod A's on almost a daily basis. This photo was taken right after Thanksgiving at the local grocery store. The Chevy is owned by a guy passing through from Utah...

Re: Bone Stock or Modified?

Yet to see an “anger laden” post in this thread. However, by ignoring this posts, you could miss out on some original parts being sold for five cents on the dollar. I make sure that the original...

Re: Bone Stock or Modified?

Brent said, "There is a real irony in many hobbyist's perception that often things are done to improve safety and/or reliability".

Brent's post is right to a point. All of the things he...

Re: Determining Model A Gas Mileage

Have my own 300 gallon gravity feed tank at the house with non-ethanol gas, so I really don’t care what mileage is!

Re: t 5 tranmission

It hasn't changed in 10 years, still 3". Rather than buy a used S-10 transmission and rebuild it, mine is brand new.

Re: Shipping a Model A

Come on guys....Californians pay a price for special blend gas to save the planet! If you bitch about the price of California gas, does that mean you’re a climate change denier?

I've been running a T-5 for 10 years with none of the issues described by Brent. First off, before cutting the cross member, we made a piece that reinforced the cross member AFTER the cut using 8...
