Re: Bad Speedometer cable or...
So update on my speedo issue - after pulling it and greasing it, it worked but once I got to about 50 MPH, it went bonkers again. So, instead of pulling it and greasing again, I opted for a new one....

I had a leak at the throttle base on mine - took forever to find it. Finally replaced the base for one without the throttle rod and problem disappeared.
Good luck

Thanks Tom (and everyone else!)
I'll try the oil tomorrow in the gauge - if that doesn't help, I'll order a new speedometer cable.

Re: Bad Speedometer cable or...
Thanks.
So if I understand correctly - just pull the internal cable out and don't remove the cable housing itself? I assume I'll need to disconnect the speedometer cable from both ends however?...

What do you think?
I have a 52 F1 with a 239 and 3 spd on the tree. Dana 44 rear end.
From the day I've had the truck, the transmission would 'grind' going into 1st gear (non-sync?).
This past weekend, I decided...

Re: LED taillites
I would check your grounds. If you don't have a good ground, you can have a slight voltage differential. Most LEDs only need .6v to light (less than 1 v) If your ground isn't good, you may get enough...

I found a calculator: My tires are 28 inches high - with the 3.92 rear end, I need to run 3000 rpm to reach approx 65mph. In order to do that at a comfortable RPM of 2500 RPM, I'd have to drop to...
