I believe the finger pulls were standard for later '28 then all 29-30-31. My mid-year 28 does not have them.

Brassworks since 2001, no issues ever! and use a thermostat. Never had one issue with overheating even on 105 degree afternoons......

That looks like the EARLY starter copper contact and you may have the early starter motor for your '28 if it has a 1/2" shaft. The mid/late starter motors have a thicker shaft and flat copper contact...
