Looking at the ones on U-tube, which are mostly model Ts, most of them have shorter tracks that do not block the door. I saw a Model A with the longer tracks that blocked the door, and it was...

Do an Internet Search "Utube Model A Snowmobile" Lots of videos of them actually running in teh snow, and there is actually a club/organization.

16 -18 amps is too much. As stated above clean your battery connections both at the battery posts and at the other end of the battery cables.


Then adjust the 3rd brush if you have a generator. ...

As a side note, I went to change out my Ratchet Nut since the teeth were all boogered up and could not hand crank the engine. The Ratchet Nut was not the standard size nut.

I also had teh stall at the stop, ended up being Nurex Distributor Wireless Plates were my problem. The "shoe" on the lower plate that makes contact with the upper plate...

Not exactly a repair, found out the hard way 1/8 tank of gas does not mean there is over a gallon left in the tank. Soon after I got the A running took it to work , and it died in the road in front...

Ideally all will be OK, if you want to be on the safe side check.


One easy way is to check/set the points gap before putting the distributor in the motor, put dist. in the motor, fully retard...

If on the road, my thoughts are - but open to discussion, the spark lever should be able to be used to adjust for any small error in timing.

Yes, it should keep its timing as long as it is going in the same motor it was point gapped and timed on.

I read somewhere that a lot of black RTVs have graphite in them, so may be slightly conductive - not sure if this is true.

Usually a pencil filter is recommended that sticks up into the tank and is fitted into the original inside style shutoff. With that style shut off not sure how a pencil filter would be installed. ...
