Re: Broken clutch arm

Not sure I would agree with you. The replacement type below is very nice and difficult for most to distinguish from an original.

Re: MARC 2022 Hotels

Jim, I noticed that too. I host an annual Model-T event each year and the issue I find trying to pick a location each year is always lodging and trailer parking. In the situation of most larger...

Re: Correct frame paint color

Cured Lacquer does have a harder shell finish than non-catalyzed synthetic Enamel.

Re: Model A Ford clutch pedal and pedal shaft collar

Welcome to Fordbarn!

The tabs on the factory blueprint are supposed to be " wide on both sides with " depth of the tab. The overall width of the Pedal Shaft Bushing Housing (-not inclusive of...

Re: Engine

Something worth mentioning in this. There is a misconception that if an insert bearing goes bad, it can be replaced with another insert. While the logic of this seems like that should be so, the...

Re: Parasitic Drain?

Are you sure? I have yet to find a 10si self-exciting regulator that did not have an electric draw, -even brand new out of the box.

Re: Engine Temp IR and Moto Meter Reading

I feel many people try to overthink this. Use the overflow tube as your guide. If it is puking water, then there is an issue. Worrying whether it is operating at 170 or at 200 is moot IMHO. It...

Re: Parasitic Drain?

Mike, do you have a generator or alternator? Did you disconnect the wire from the alt/gen and see if your draw is eliminated? A self-exciting regulator in the alternator does have a draw.

Yes,...

Let me start by saying Welcome to Fordbarn!!

Realistically, you cannot tell a lot until you see the combustion chamber where you can compare it to others whom we know the manufacturer and what...

Re: Engine color

Gary is correct with regard to mixing. You cannot mix lacquers into enamels for coloring.

With regard to engine paint, it takes pigments from two different primary colors to make green. The...

Re: 3rd engine failure...getting frustrated

By theory, your comment is very believable however it is not always factual in all circumstances, ...and that 'word getting out' is often incorrect or unjustified.

IMO, the rebuilder I think you...

Re: 3rd engine failure...getting frustrated

So are we thinking the finished size was 3.875/3.876, -or are we speculating there was an additional honing step to follow the roller process? If so, what is the target finish size of the bore after...

Re: 3rd engine failure...getting frustrated

Wow, this is not what I would think most people will say.

Engines rebuilt during that time used inferior pistons in comparison by today's standards. Stainless valves were rarely used, one-piece...

Re: Late '31 Gas Tank Restoration

I like cutting them in the factory weld as it is less-obtrusive when re-welded. It has been my experience that you need a jig or fixture when the tank is reassembled to eliminate the possibility of...

Re: 3rd engine failure...getting frustrated

Terry, you are correct on all aspects of your comparison. There is no doubt in my mind that your cylinder block is a much superior piece when compared to a used, original cylinder block. I doubt...
