Im not familiar with t5 set-up,but I run a 9" in my 37 panel . Stock 8BA 3 speed Trans. Walt Dupon
t suggested running the 9" with heavy duty springs. I've had it in for 3 years with no slipping...

1938 Brake Drums width

I'm looking to find out the width of 1938 Brake Drums when new. I know they'12". Are they 12" .060 new? Any help would be great. Thanks Ray

If you have the old drums you can get them relined . J&G Brake Drum Relining . Mchenry Illinois does a great job. Great guy to do business with. Ray

Eaton Detroit springs are very good. replaced the front springs
on my 37 and am very happy with them. fit perfect and brought the front up 2" . talk to Gary at eaton, knows his stuff.

Thanks Don and Gary. I'll give that a try. I cut the race I got so that I had just the outer edge. On one it was just about perfect . On the other I had to grind some off .But I was worrying about...

I purchased a thrust washer from Fred , for some reason it wont' work without modification. With all the Vendors Ford had , could some have been made that didn't require a Thrust washer? On the 36...

The 36 drum doesn't have the metal ring inside, the 37 drum does. Just wondering if this was the way the 36 drum was, and if it was a change for the 37-39. I had the 36 drums turned. the 37 drums...
