I bought a trunk lid skin from them. Howells, For a 1931 Model a Coupe. Dont know to this day what it is supposed to fit.

Carb adjustment
Question for the experts/ My timing is dead on. Starts perfect. As soon as it starts I bring the advance all the way down. Idle goes up quite a bit.
Should I set idle after advancing? If so....

One more question. I installed a new coil. The old one had only one mark on it, MADE IN USA. The new one has + - post. Which way should it he installed? Wire from starter to + or-?

Thanks to all that replied. Started checking from Batt. all through the system. Found wire to ign. switch loose. POP out cable worn . Made a new popout cable, fire right up. Ran around 15 min. then...

OK Installed old condenser. Fired right up. Ran for around 5 min. then died. Ran long enough to set carburetor. Ran real smooth.
Pulled high tension wire and did check again. Blue spark but not all...

Ist all back together. Wont start. Turns over very well. Timing is dead on. New points, condenser, and coil. Holding high tension wire 1/4" from head bolt I get three or four real blue...

I just went out and tried it the way you stated and worked very well. The upper and lower rings are about 100 degrees from the butted ends and around 3 1/2" apart.

Grant piston rings
Any one out there have a secret on how to keep the "THIRD'' ring in place.
Grant says that "TWO"' colors should show and "NOT"' over lap.
I get it set like that, then when I install the upper...

Now I think I have another situation. After cleaning top of pistons I find they are marked .120 oversize. All I can find is .100----.125 over.
Who is the best to by from with great quality parts....

Tom Timing is dead on. I worked most of the day getting it right. At around 40 mph I set the advance around three clicks advance as I started up a small grade I retarded it 2 clicks, ran great after...
