Re: 1932 V8 standard roadster update

2232 pounds with a V8 (dry and with only the spare wheel, not the spare tire and tube).

Re: 32 window crank knobs

Tom,

Because the '32 deluxe coupe knobs are unique in their coloration (dark brown with red highlights), I used paint for plastics from a hobby shop to recreate the original colors and then clear...

Re: 1932 V8 standard roadster update

Ken,
You are too kind, but your compliments are sincerely appreciated. However, such a video would be so long and boring that the audience would all be asleep after the first hour. The amount of...

Smile Re: 1932 V8 standard roadster update

Apart from its standard equipment of an inside mirror, the addition of the post mirrors is the substitution of LHD and RHD deluxe windshield posts for the standard posts. The deluxe post mirrors are...

Re: 1932 V8 standard roadster update

Thanks for the compliments, guys.

woodiewagon46,

The second tail lamp was a dealer-installed accessory. The only thing different about it from the left side lamp is the bracket, which was...

Re: 35 roadster drivers kick panel.

Mike,

It varies by model year and body type. For the '32s, for example, it ranges from the pressed-in 'chicken track' pattern like on the firewall pad to artificial leather covered and in...

Re: 35 roadster drivers kick panel.

If you're seeking originality, the challenge could be the texture or grain pattern of the available cardboard or matting, hence the reason for the fiberglass reproductions (at least for some of the...

Re: 35 Ford Exterior Door Handle

Judging from Don's illustration from the hardware catalog the inside door handles in the rear compartment attach directly to the ends of the shanks of the outside door handles whereas in the front...

Re: Ford GT 2018 $1125000 BJ just now

Right, wimpy-ass for sure at only 647 HP and 550 ft.lbs. of torque pushing a 3,100 lb. vehicle; winner of its class at LeMans first time out. Eat your heart out.

Re: Color question - light winterleaf or not?

The phaeton in your photos is a pretty good match for the original '32 color, Winterleaf brown-light, but a tad on the bland side. The moldings should be painted Winterleaf brown-dark as original to...

Re: 35 roadster arm rests

If you're interested in originality, '35 roadsters were not equipped with arm rests.

Re: 34 tool storage?

It was a tool box for coupes, cabriolets, and roadsters, but the original question regarded a Tudor sedan. The engine compartment tool boxes are handy, for sure, but they are length limited inside...

Re: '32 Rear hood latch location

The two sides are mirror images of one another; there's no dimensional difference.

Re: '32 Rear hood latch location

Pat,

They are not parallel to the frame, but rather parallel to the hood side panel which at the cowl end is outboard of the frame and at the front end it is on top of the frame. Your second...

Re: 34 Ford Caboriolet

The Fords sold in South America during the '30s were either wholly or largely of U.S. manufacture and without exception all of the engines used in those cars and trucks were produced at the Rouge...

Re: Left 1932 Engine Tin

Pat,

Not at all unheard of; I'm still seeking a right side '33 V8 pan and expect no bargain when one turns up.

Re: 1932 Ford 4 cylinder engine tins question

Fairly rare, but not unheard of; for example six of seven of the more or less original '32s in the Regehr auction in Kansas later this week still have their engine splash pans intact, both fours and...

Re: Left 1932 Engine Tin

If you find a nice, completely intact pair of '32 V8 engine splash pans for $400, that would be at the low end of the range of what they sell for (which is not often as they were often discarded...

Re: 34 tool storage?

I had LeBaron Bonney make pouches for all the tools including the jack, but any upholsterer could do that for you; no more rattles or paint chips.

Re: 34 tool storage?

Under the rear seat cushion with the small items as well. The space behind the rear seat back was intended for luggage, etc. (a small amount of it:D).
