Re: Flywheel housing mounting

I have thought about that but my car has all original components. The float a motors seem to me that it will allow the motor to flop around a bit plus it is not what it came with. It’s just that the...

Re: Determining Model A Gas Mileage

It’s like my hot rod boat, I fill it and drive it because I love it ! If I started worrying about fuel efficiency it would spoil my enjoyment. Of course it gets me when we go on a tour and we start...

Re: Trailer hitch

Seems like way overkill just to stick a flag on your car. The manufacturer and or vendor is obviously concerned about liability. I donít think I would trust any hitch unless it was mounted to the...

Re: Paint prep

NEVER use lacquer thinner. Even though it melts stuff off the surface it leaves residue and can cause fisheyes. A good name brand of automotive wax and grease remover will be fine. Make sure you wipe...

Re: Any info on A217, Sport Coupe on MAFCA website?

Not to be a stick in the mud here but we all know that there are many peripheral parts to a Model A that are interchangeable. That doesn’t mean that the basic car isn’t what the owner claims it to...

Re: Persistent Leaky Fuel Shutoff Valve

I rebuilt my original valve 3 times and it still seeped. The carb had the original ball type float valve. I bought a new tank shut off valve from who I can’t recall. Still seeped. I put in a new...

Re: Zenith carb float level

I had a similar situation with one of my zeniths. I ended up putting the lower half in a vice and filling the bowl with gas. Low and behold it was leaking out of the threads of the jet in the air...

Re: A of the day wheels

So I guess they cut the spokes and weld them to the rim? Has to be touchy getting all of them accurately spaced and centered unless you made a jig for them.

A of the day wheels

What kind of wheels are on Jerry Egglestons roadster that was the A of the day? The centers look like stock 31 but the rims look like 16 inch. Never seen that before. Thanks, Marc

How far do you screw in the secondary well on a Zenith carb.? So it is flush with the casting? The threads on the carb I am working on will allow it to thread in deeper. Thanks, Marc
