Are you sure it hasn't slid back ? To put the replacement nut on that is gone ,one end that is crimped will have to be removed .Suggest you replace the cable & casing assy. Not expensive.

Just an aftermarket from the 30's.Non repairable.Temp probably doesn't work anyway.IMO.

I worked for Pep Boy's in Lakewood,CA after high school in the early 1960's and sold tons of those antennas.Port A Walls were also a hot item.

Yes guys put your glasses on.The 2 holes for the side mount bracket are at the lip edge of the cowl near the hood.

Yes,push it in with a thin putty knife.Groove must be clean.

Here is a pic of the bases.I think he reused them as they(81's) have smaller venturi's.They originally have a vacuum port between the adj screws.

I learned from Max that the 22.2 in metric translates into 81.When I Googled the 22.2mm to inches it came up .87. I have found the French 97's that are 24.6 and the 48's which are 26.2. Our fond...

There were 2 repops on EBAY in the last few weeks. $195 and $483 is what they sold for. The Ford Store sold their last one 2 wks ago for $500.

Do it skidmarks way.My vise has provisions below the jaws to clamp round tubes snugly without damage also.

Its basically a slip fit.Might have some slight rust .Carefully clamp the tube in your vise then try turning the old box.
