Re: Chickasha OK swapmeet

The last Chickasha Swap in October 2017 was quite a bit larger than in past years. It made me more optimistic after seeing the swaps decrease, the last few years. The Spring meet is May 10-12, the...

Re: A new find

Congrats on the find ! Looks to be in good condition. Cars and trucks from Western Oklahoma ( North or South) tend to be fairly rust free.

Re: Fuel pump

I have the correct 8BA push rod. Wanted to make sure no other parts were missing. I will check the the distance from the stock intake versus the Offy intake to make sure the push rod is the correct...

Re: Fuel pump

Didn't plan on trying to use the earlier fuel pump setup on the 8ba. I was just comparing the two ( 1947 model and the 8ba) and trying to make sure I had all the correct parts for the job. I have the...

Fuel pump

Trying to install a fuel pump on my 49-53 flathead for my 47 Ford. Not sure I have all the parts required. Looks a little different than the fuel pump setup I pulled from my 47. The 47 had a fuel...

Re: T5 to torque tube adapter

Great information. I'd love to do one of these in my 37 pickup, especially since it came with no engine and trans. I enjoy driving my 36 pickup around town but finding those gears can be a challenge...

Re: 1936 Truck restoration

Excellent job on the restoration of this 36. I'm not sure my 36 could be brought back to this condition but the 37 I picked up could be. Enjoying your progress.

Re: Old Fords are addictive!

Much better than the fenders on my first pickup. I found the tailgate buried under debris in the bed. The owner had car parts stored in about 10 different storage containers on the property. No...

Re: Old Fords are addictive!

The 41 sold for $500 with a complete cab and front end with the drive train. The 41 was missing the bed and the rear frame was damaged. I suspect it was in a rear end collision at one time. Still a...

Re: Old Fords are addictive!

Like eatin' candy. Although the new truck today looks rough, it's actually a very straight truck. No stress cracks either. I think this one didn't live a rough farm life, like my first truck.
There...

Re: New to flatheads, some questions

I'm fairly new to flatheads too even though I'm in my 60's. I bought a 47 coupe about a year and a half ago and just bought a 36 pickup a few weeks ago. I've had all kinds of cars over the years but...

Re: Steering box questions

After looking at the casting numbers again, I think it's either a 3558 or 3550- D 2

I'm going to order a CD version of the Green Book tonight, so I can find these numbers. Looks like a good...

Re: Steering box questions

So what year is this spare steering box that I have ? A 1942 ? The numbers appear to be 21A 3559 D . I'm trying to rebuild one for my 36.

Re: 36 Pickup break-in

After reading more posts on the steering boxes and with the needle bearings of the 36 steering box, looks like it would be better to get a 37 mounting bracket and find a 37 or later steering box....

Re: 36 Pickup break-in

Will a 41-48 steering box work on the 36, if the steering shaft is changed ?
