You need Camaro or Mustang trans gears.......talk to V8COOPMAN.....he’s advised me on ways to change to better ratios for my T-5........Mark

What part in your picture are you calling the “key”? .....I have no experience with Mercury’s but I have had my ‘51 Ford apart. Is it possible to fabricate the part you need to replace?

My son is a tool and die maker at the local shipyard in Kittery, ME., working on stuff for nuclear subs. He’s told me just holding a part in his hand will warm it enough to take it out of tolerance....

I have a ‘37 motor that has a Y- crossover pipe. No block off plates like a shoebox. You will need to make custom pipes after the manifolds. I believe truck manifolds are similar. I have a ‘51-‘52...

Under 2000 might be a little low. There are a number of sites that have a formula to determine axle ratio- tire size - engine rpm. I don’t have one handy to link. I’m sure someone will post one...
