Re: Oil mist on left side of engine

I had similar issues of oil wetting on my engine! I had just purchased the car, and had only run it to town and home, and oil wetting on the left side was obvious! Did some looking and investigating...

Re: Brake adjustment - Frustration

I realize this thread is about "Adjusting the Brakes". Yet, for me, once I purchased my vehicle, with the brakes pulling the car to the left, I first started by pulling the drums to see what I was...

Re: Toe-in Alignment tool

I fear I did overkill on this toe in thing, but, it is what it is! I got some angle iron from my junk pile and some wood. I then cut the angle iron in two pieces that when held up next to my model a...

Kind of a 6 Volt coil question/observation

Was going through a junk box, dug out several ignition coils, and did some primary resistance checks. Two were Delco and one, an original 6 volt ford Coil off a model A. The resistance measurement of...

Re: Preservation vs Restoration

I can only speak from my model A ownership! I call my car, a "20 footer!" (looks great from 20ft) I am not into what others do, and I just do enough to my car to make it safe, with good seats and...

Re: A Chinese radiator in a Model A?!!!

Not going to get into the un-American thing. Not much of what I buy at Walmart these days is American.
Concerning ebay........I have dealt with their "eBay Money back guarantee" and it has never...

Re: Is fuel bubbling normal

According to his response to me, the car has no sediment bowl! Following his other comments, it does have a fuel turn off! I thought all Model A's had a sediment bowl!

Re: Is fuel bubbling normal

Well, your observation could be a problem! Has this plastic fuel filter been installed for a long time or is it new?
How warm is the plastic filter? If the plastic filter is not hot, I would venture...

Re: Electric Wiper Questions

Undercutting! My motor situation was one of more cleaning between copper segments, rather than undercutting. So in my comments, I used the wrong word What I used to accomplish that was an old hack...

Re: Electric Wiper Questions

What I did on my wiper motor clean up, on the commutator, is I did not use any kind of sandpaper on the commutator, I used a clean new metal file and gently cleaned it up. Mine was level and just...

Re: Temp Probe Pipe Leak

I venture on a no pressure system as a model A, you could manage paste on fix, but, if you are like me, there would always be concern about it! Best to get a replacement. :)

Re: Dwell RPM meter

I got, at a flea market, a Niehoff Dwell-Tach T-44! The guy who had it was kind enough to open the battery compartment, and it was clean. No physical damage! Got it home and could not get it to...

Re: OK! Oldtimers, Gimme your best answer, Stuck Engine

As the stuck engine issue is described, it kept getting worse till the engine locked up. Something was not getting lubrication or something was too tight to start with. It has to be piston or...

Re: No need to go 70mph

70MPH is interesting but so is ability to stop! My mechanical brakes are excellent, yet not much tire on the pavement! I think 45 MPH, maybe 50MPH down hill is sufficient!

Re: Gas tank seeping.

Any Gasoline leakage needs to be fixed right! To me it is just a plain safety issue. The point of leakage is a common one. Using sealers is not the choice I would make. For me the tank needs to come...
