Model A horn question

What size is the screw that holds the horn cover on the model A horn (mine is a Stewart Warner)?

It looked like a 10-32, but it is not. The thread count is 32, the size is however, slightly...

Re: Gas?

Yes, but the goal is to reduce as much as possible the surface area where the atmosphere contacts either the fuel where moisture absorption can occur, or the surface of the tank where condensation...

Re: Gas?

I would recommend just the opposite. I fill my tank to the very brim. (Although shutting off the fuel and running the carb dry is a good idea.) An empty tank is an invitation for condensation and...

Need strange lower distributor cap ID

During the winter, when it is too cold to work in the garage, I enjoy restoring model A parts in the comfort of my warm basement workshop. So I picked up this "lot" of distributor caps for 20 bucks...

Re: LED Headlights

Well we had a warm day so I went up to the garage and installed the Logo Lites LED headlight "bulbs" (picture 1). The installation time was about 15 seconds. I took a picture with just one side...

Re: Model A Marine Engine

The friend I bought my 1930 coupe from did the same thing during WWII when getting gas was difficult. He said it worked fine.

==========
Model A engines were common in the Pietenpol. (picture 1)...

Re: LED Headlights

I bought a pair to test out and review for our (Fairfield County A's) newsletter. I'll share my results when I test them, but that won't be for a while. It is TOO COLD to do now!!

Re: Electric Wiper Questions

I am glad to see you are going through the trouble of getting your electric wiper going. Not many do. The next time you are at a show look at all the model A's that should have electric wipers, and...

Re: New Guy

I have a 29, but have to open the hood anyway to shut off the main power switch which is mounted near the starter. It's a little bit of a pain, but relieves any concern of an electrical short/fire,...

Re: New Guy

If you find this to be a problem look carefully at the shift lever. You will most certainly find it bent slightly toward the driver's side, trapping your knee under the steering wheel. This will not...

Re: 29 Tudor pinstripe - wrong & now right!

You are correct. The whitewalls on my tudor are going away when I next need new tires. I just could not bring myself to get rid of good tires for appearance sake. I am too cheap I guess!! :D

Re: 29 Tudor pinstripe - wrong & now right!

When I say "wrong" I am speaking as a judge might trying to compare a restored model A to a new original car as outlined in the JS.

As far as paint finish goes, IDK if Ford would have spent any...

29 Tudor pinstripe - wrong & now right!

My 29 tudor had a pinstripe when I bought it. (picture 1) It was wrong. Notice how the stripe goes up the "C" pillar moulding, with a smooth curve toward the back, and a sharp angle toward the front....

Re: Improved steering box choices

I have one on my 29 Tudor. Along with a rebuilt front end and Bill Stype shocks, I have no fear of rail road tracks or wash board roads!

Oh and also That is not a generator, buy a "gener-nator",...

Re: Hidden Turn Signal Bracket.

It is part of an all electronic turn signal system which doesn't need a heat activated flasher, is self canceling, supports indicator lights if you want, and allows you to used cowl or fog lights as...

Hidden Turn Signal Bracket.

I had to make a bracket to mount a small turn signal switch (to replace the big ugly switch attached to my steering column with a hose clamp) behind the dash rail of my 29 tudor. I made a video of...

Re: Excelsior Radial Tires

Interesting thread! I have a question. What is the difference between regular tubes (I put all new ones with metal stems on my tudor last year.) and tubes for radials? If it is just marketing hype I...

Re: Model A document holder

I use one of these:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M4JZZ50/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Slips into the door pocket although it is a little long and sticks up above the pocket.

Bad batch of parts

I ordered wire clips from Bert's to secure the wires going back to my new rear turn signal lights. Unfortunately when I went to install them, I found them to be useless.

Here it the email I sent...
