Re: Engine pans

Ford installed them originally. Many people have removed them over the years. They use two of the oil pan bolts and two bolts to the frame.

Re: Amount of oil remaining in the engine

Maybe political but why change something “we” setup to be our measurements. That’s like saying we should change our language.
Sorry just could not resist.😡

Re: King Pins

Yes, it depends on how long and how well they fit when installed. Is the axle out of the car? With the pin out you can put penetrate in fluid in the hole and if the axle is out put it on the bottom...

Re: Sound deadening suggestions

Didn't Henry use some kind of asphalt/fiber coating in the doors? It seems that I remember seeing some kind of coating peeling off the inside of an old Tudor that had not been run since early 50's.

Congratulations on finding the picture. And thanks for sharing your story. Always love hearing/reading about them, especially with a model A involved.

Re: Model A I think I need another

Yeah you need another A. Isn't the bumper to bumper dimension the same on all of the cars? The wheelbase is the same. The rear bumper brackets could change lengths depending on body style.

Re: Looking for history of this A Tudor

I don't know if the California DOT would cooperate with you to provide previous info on the registration of the car in California. Some states will and you can see if it came from another state....

Re: How to Remove Rear Spring U Bolts from 29 Town Sedan

In my Briggs Town Sedan the floor pan is tacked down with short nails. You can pull the rear seat out and pull the small nails out. Use some good rest penetrate to help with removing the nuts.

Re: Emergency brake cross shaft bearings

Does your emergency cross shaft fit between the frame rails? I believe the brass bushing presses on the shaft and the springs on each end keep it centered.

Re: $46,900, you have to check this one out.

The ad looks more like a "here is my business ad" than I want to sell this car. If you read the first part of his story, he is advertising his business.
