Re: Birthday present

After you are through with your insurance company apply a little black paint over the primer that shows. Not a permanent solution but it will let you relax a little until you have time to do it...

Re: Rim powder coating

If you added your general location to your profile maybe someone would suggest a place that can do it and is close to where you live.

Re: Wanted board

Looks fine to me. Same place as always. If it was missing for a period of time I didn't miss it. See: https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=15

Re: lincon brakes

You should check this with the manufacturers of the reproduction Lincoln brakes, I think they have solved those problems with both the front and rear.

Re: 6 volt positive ground

Neither side is ground, it just measures the current going through the wire. Connect the wires and blow the horn. If is shows discharge it is correct, otherwise reverse the wires.

Re: lincon brakes

There are only a couple of things I remember about the Lincoln brakes and you might find them useful. The bolt pattern on the Model A spindle is smaller and one of the suppliers makes a Lincoln...

Re: Made in USA?

Please don't just toss them. Call the supplier and tell them you want a refund and would be glad to ship the parts back if they pay the postage. Until this happens they will just keep selling them,...

Re: 12 V conversion

The main problem is that the '36 mounts the fan on the pulley and the front bearing for the alternator is not strong enough for the load. I would go with a later 2 brush generator ('39 standard for...

Re: Model A brake question

Be sure the wheels you plan to run are compatible with disc brakes.

Re: Model A rearend conversion

What many of the people are overlooking is that the Model A is not a car you would like to run all day at 75 MPH. I have a '31 RDPU with 3.54 gears. It is happy at 55 MPH. It will do 75 but at that...

Re: Model A rearend conversion

Remember you will need to add brackets to keep the rear end from twisting. My advice would be a later, stronger, rear end if you are going to make the brackets.

Re: Shopping list for new A

The reproduction KR Wilson is my first choice. You really need one that pulls on the groove in the hub if it is really stuck. See http://www.vintageprecision.com/products/hub_pullers/index.html ...

Re: Shopping list for new A

Post a picture of the hub puller, I doubt it is the one you want to use. Buy enough parts to tune up the car, if it doesn't need a tune up store them under to seat. Always carry a spare condenser,...

Re: King pin replace

I would take it to a local machine shop and have it honed. It will be better and if you are doing one it might even be less expensive.

Re: Rear End- Is it worth saving ?

The guts fit '32 (except late). The wheel rims are probably cracked from having been torqued down on Model A hubs without a spacer, check for cracks at the lug nut holes.
