Re: Note for DavidG - Answer

Marcus,

Thanks for the reply. I just noticed that I misspelled Cousin Al's surname. It is correctly spelled Kiraly, which is 'king' in Hungarian.

Re: 33 Rear Main Leak

If you revert to the '34 oil pump you will need to install the snap-in baffle pan missing from your oil pan (judging from your first batch of photos).

Re: 33 -34 woodgrain samples

The first two of ford33's photos are reminiscent of the '32 grains which were a mixture of burl and straight grains depending on the time period and body style.

Mike,

With respect, isn't that...

Re: project 1934 deluxe coupe

With respect, I disagree with the "Only purchase what you need to complete that (one project) task approach" as having been taught otherwise by the experience of numerous restorations spread out over...

Re: what is it made out of?

Original '32-'34 shock link halves were forged steel. Most aftermarket replacements were cast iron.

Which of the glove boxes in the last two photos is your '33 grain.

Re: 32' Cowl to Firewall Gasket

That's the real deal - correct cross section shape and fabric reinforced. It is a hundred times more suitable despite being used.

Re: 33 Rear Main Leak

With respect, David, it is an un-vented block and therefore it is older than '35 and since it is not a '32 block, that leaves either '33 or '34.

Re: New products thread??

Love the photo, the people in it, and my old phaeton bought in the parking lot of the yacht club in Rio de Janeiro.

As for the idea, it's a good one, and hopefully Bill Monzo will be an active...

Re: 34 ford woodgrain

Ford itself likely did not apply the wood grain to the various dash and window molding components. For that matter, it is highly likely that many small stampings such as those under discussion were...

Re: part id..1932 or 1933/34 v8 ford

Re: 1933 fender/bolt question?

Perhaps the practice varied by assembly plant, but the head out approach on bolts did minimize fracturing the paint on the parts when the fasteners were tightened thereby reducing the corrosion risk...

Re: 1933 fender/bolt question?

Based on several U.S.-built '33s that have never been apart (original paint, upholstery, top, floor mats, etc.), all of the bolt heads for the front fender brackets to frame, fender apron to frame,...
