read above ^^^^^ the cam bearing was partially blocking the push rod...

i dont think it moved the bearing ....it removed bearing material ..it was a minute little edge blocking the very edge of the hole ..when you looked down the hole it looked like an 1/64 of a moon...

i used the ground rod to work the bearing . i think i just removed enough of the bearing edge to fit the stock push rod ...like i said it was not much just enough to stop the rod from hitting the...

i think i got it ...i ground down an extra rod and worked it in and around ...the bearing was just over lapping about a10th inch...the good rod fits and hits the lobe and goes up and down ...going...

no it stops when it hits the edge of the bearing.. i have not tried to force the rod past the bearing ..

i think so , i can see the edge of the bearing .it wont allow the rod to drop down contact the cam lobe ..

it has been verified ,,the bearing is to far foward by about a 10th of an inch

just looked down the hole ..the bearing is to far rearward by about a10th of an inch.do you think i can pull the trans and flywheel get to the rear cover and press it in ?

well that sucks ... what you are saying makes a lot of sense as to the problem ...you have me on the right track... will have to look into it and let you know how it turns out...thank you for the help

thanks... its somthing along that line of thinking... hate to have to pull it apart .the motor sounds so good ..maybe i can get to the bearing from the rear cam cover?

first startup of my rebuilt 8ba ...i had to gravity feed the fuel...the push rod does not move up at all.its as though the lobe is not on the cam...brand new isky 77b....can the cam bearing be...
