I was working on a patch panel for the rear cab wall before i ran out of time, just as i was leaving i was looking at the rear wall/cab floor joining point. I didnt get to have a good...

Hi All,

Which year did the first 2 speed axle come out in the trucks? A friend of mine thought it was not until late 40,s early 50's, I thought it was earlier than that.

Or maybe they didn't...

Yeah mate not to bad, has some dents in the roof i need to work on and some rust work in bottom fuel tank area and the front wings.

And what timber would you suggest to make the mounts from? I would think it would be a nice hard wood, ( remembering im in Australia)

So the 40 to 41 are different ( but similar).
42 to 47 should be the same but have different timber mounts for the heavy duty trucks?

Thanks mate good to know, so not really a good option to copy a set ( or get a reference from somewhereto allow for shrinkage).

I would think someone would have a set of plans/templates for them. ...

Was having another think while I'm.away about things on the truck ( 42 1 1/2 tonne).

There is timber supports under the cab that I need to have to secure the cab to the frame correct?...
