Re: Brake bleed valves have slotted screws

I just took off a pair from some early Lincoln brakes. The wheel cylinder push rods had folded over ends so they couldn't get loose from the shoes.

I picked it up and was surprized that it not only turned but was smooth as glass with to slop at all. Perfectly tight.
Chevy used the same side...

46-48 Front hubs and drums .010 OS

They are .010 oversized using a professional gauge. They have great drum surfaces. No need to turn them. One has about 3 broken off the outside lip. I have saved a scrap drum to furnish a...

46-48 drum .050 OS

You can not buy relacement drums for the outside mount hubs. You would have to buy hubs and drums if your drums are not usable. This is a nice in tolerance usable drum. The brake surface was coated...

Press fit and also keyed. They have a very tight press fit. The key is for indexing. You can cut the worm to remove it but do not cut the shaft.

Re: Ford tie rod end boots

AutoZone offers several sizes of tie rod boots. They are sized to the diameter of the shank. I found them online.

Re: Steering column question

I have always drilled a series of 1/16” holes across the head and used a screwdriver. You end up with a usable original bolt.

Re: 35 transmission

The chrome shift lever and cap should be worth $50. The case would except the later gears. The case should be worth $50
