Re: Where to store your extra wheels

Rocket1, Like the idea of using an old wheel as a hose holder. Could even use it without cutting it. Thanks for the idea.

NoboD, you must have a lot of junk wheels to keep replacing them, when...

Where to store your extra wheels

Have an extra wheel or two and wondering where you might store them, yet make them functional in the meantime. How about a stool.

I decided to make a stool for my shop with the stamped steel...

Re: Rattle Can Straw

I was looking to paint my wheels the light yellow look that they call Tacoma Wheat in later years and earlier called Straw (I think), but it is a light yellow and not the off white that your picture...

Re: Paint code for "straw" wheels

If it helps, I ended up painting mine with Rustoleum Painter's choice 2X. I tried several colors trying to get as close to the Straw that is on the yellow side. We didn't find the almond to be what...

Re: Gilmore Car Museum Location

I also didn't realize how many buildings are in this same area. I thought there were some other car museums in the general area, but this is like Disneyland for some of us. I see marked on the...

Re: How to evaluate wheels at swap meet

I went to the swap meet as planned this weekend, but only saw one 19 inch wheel. It looked very nice, all cleaned up and sand blasted etc. No cracks that I could see. Some spokes were bent though. ...

Re: How to evaluate wheels at swap meet

Lots of great tips here. Thank you.
I actually have two bad wheels (in my opinion). Originally, out of the 5 wheels I had, 3 were bad. That left me with 2 reasonably good ones. A club member was...

Re: How to evaluate wheels at swap meet

Thanks for all the responses so quickly.
I agree, that I don't want more than 1/8 round-out, preferably less.
The jig that 2manycars has is just the ticket, but I don't have a way to make that. ...

Re: Torque for bolts on valve cover?

I was about to ask a question on type of gasket for valve cover, when I found this new thread.

I see some vendors offer a choice of paper or cork gasket. Bratton only seems to offer paper. What...

Re: Zenith Carb leaking, what type of needle value to get

Thanks for all your help. I was able to visit one of our club members who had an extra float valve and gaskets. I didn't see anything in the old float valve, but that was likely the problem, it...

Re: Suggestions on soldering SS water pipe fitting

Thanks for letting me know that it would be hard to solder SS. I think my best bet is to just get a new pipe. Thanks again for your suggestions and advice.

The...
