In my opinion selling a 30's; 40's 50 's etc. vehicle at B. J. or Mecum is a mistake. Seeing a restored 57 T Bird sold at $33,000 and a 65 Bronco right behind it at $115,000 [ previous Mecum...

I believe Drake is the best. Unfortunately when I needed a grill there were no Drakes availiable so i settled for a Vintique. Not a good choice.

It was an option on the 1951 Mercury. The only one i ever saw was installed on a 1951 Merc. at the James Dean Run several years ago.

I've been using hard rubber hockey pucks for quite a while. Easy to make smaller diameter or thinner if need be. Single drilled hole is usually all that is needed. No failures after years of use.

Yes the market for our type of cars is declining but these selling prices are way to low. Mecum bidders are spending big bucks on Shelby's, Broncos, Camero's, Mustangs GTO's Superbirds and the like....

I use regular oil and add a bottle of ZDDP [zinc ] to it. Will not start my engine without it.

Been there done that. I only use a credit card or Pay Pal on U.S. transactions. The fees are to high but I have some protection on a bad deal. If the seller can not do the deal with those two methods...
