Re: ad nauseum-pun intended..............

Hagarty's Drivers Club has a good classified. You have to join the club to list but the listing is free. The club starts at $45 but includes a decent magazine, some towing, etc. and no sales...

Re: Shock Arm 1935

Steve,
Good idea. I hadn't thought of that. In the mean time, I noticed that it appears that the shaft had been staked with a punch to retain the arm. I put the arm back on and re-staked around...

Re: Shock Arm 1935

I do have a stick welder. Anyone know what metals I'd be dealing with here? Cast or forged? Would 6013 rod work? If weldable, I'd think a couple of short beads just to keep it from sliding off and...

Shock Arm 1935

Did a lube job and noticed this on the right front shock. The rear shock arms have a clamp bolt arrangement to retain them but this looks like it was swadged on. Is this repairable, or do I need a...

Re: 35 Jack

Steve,

To answer your question about how it works, I tried extending mine while pulling up on the jack pad rather than letting gravity push down. Another telescoping tube engaged and it...

Re: For bias-ply guys

A year ago I bought European Classic 600X16s for my 35. They have several dealers across the country and are less expensive than the reproduction Firestone or Goodyear. They are manufactured in...

Re: Engine Swap

Thanks to all that replied. Always valuable information here! My plan would be to buy this one at a good price and keep it as a spare for when needed. I will run the original engine for as long as...

Engine Swap

I have a 35 ford with the original engine, which is still running well, but showing low oil pressure and excessive wear in the oil analysis. I have an opportunity to buy another engine. I need your...

Re: Gas shut off valve options

Stainless ball valve from Amazon. Harder than brass so less prone to damage and downstream from paper filter so won't be subject to as much grit from tank. Won't work well for a judged car but...

Steve,

Nice looking car. I too have a Model A and a 35 and live at Lake Anna. I've had the 35 for about a year. If you haven't already seen it, here is an interesting video about another...

Re: 1935/36 roof tack strip

My top material looks fine but the weatherstrip is aged and cracked. Is it possible to pull the weatherstrip out and replace it without ruining the top material?

Re: Adjusting Anti-Chatter Rods

Thank you all for your responses. My rods are as depicted in Coop's first picture - stock and properly fastened. I think my technique is part of it, as it happens most often when starting up hill...

Adjusting Anti-Chatter Rods

35 Tudor Sedan. Depending on my clutch technique, I sometimes have some minor chatter when starting out, more so in reverse. A friend suggested that I need to adjust the ant-chatter rods. I looked...

Re: Tire date code

Tires built before 2000 featured a three-digit date code at the end of the Tire Identification Number. The first two digits of the date code tell you the week that the tires were built, and the last...

Re: 35 Jack

Thank you all. I think Fordyford hit it when he talked about the second stage not engaging. The rest of you are right too. I'll just get a scissors or bottle jack.

35 Jack

Pictured is the jack that came with my car. According to the picture in the 35/36 Early V8 Book, it is part 48-17080-A2 variation made by Noblitt Sparks. I figured I'd try it out for the first time...
