Post number 10 reminded me of when I bought a new plunger and spring I had a knock as you do and found the new spring was very weak. Put an original spring in and the knock was gone. Just a thought...

John, you bought it to chase the tube threads in the rear main cap. Or to enlarge from the 5/16" tube in the 28 thru mid 30 cap.

A few years ago I read some place the Canadian shells were off by an inch or so at the conduit holes. Why I don't know or remember.

Could be the filler tube cap was pushed on too far causing back pressure forcing oil out the rear main.

I found my problem was the repro hood prop kit with the fold out ends. They attach to the radiator rods and the pivot bolt is loose that allows the ends to be folded out to hold the hood in the open...

If you removed the speedometer drive gear for some reason and put it back on the driveshaft reversed it will hold you back about 1 inch from the u-joint.

My guess is you have a sheared pin on either the fork that moves the throwout bearing or the leaver that is moved by the pedal. Grab both and see if one or the other moves on the shaft.

No it is not covered on the A but was change on the B to cover. You just need to be sure the slinger was installed with a sealer like permatex A2 or the like.

The frame you have is off a 28/29 closed cab pickup or truck with the hand wiper. You should trade it for the correct one so it can be saved for a pickup or truck being restored for blue ribbon...

Yes Steve you are Wrong. It is a 3/8 NEF thread and once retaped with a 1/8" NPT the cap is junk.

Hi Jesse, If you have a B/W overdrive it may be in free wheeling. Pull the T handle to lock it out.

Sounds like the timing gear nut came loose. Take off the side inspection cover and check for movement of the gear on the cam.
