Don, with all due respect, Ford may not have designed luggage rack brackets specifically for 35-36 Ford coupes, roadsters, or cabriolets, but they will definitely fit using the brackets designed for...

Pictures of short vs long, 35-36 luggage rack brackets. The overall length of short bracket = 21", long bracket = 25" as measured in pictures.

I believe it's spacing of second gear on main shaft that's critical in preventing jumping out of second gear. This should be covered in Mac Van Pelts transmission book.

Stretch Cab, I'm very happy to hear you got this done safely, considering some of the instructions given here by a couple members were just plain poor advice.
