a lot of brake problems come from turning down brake drums and the shoes no longer fit.

the easiest way to tell a 6 bell from an 8 is to measure the distance between the 2 top bolt holes.5.5 for the 6 cyl and 7.5 for v8.

the 223 and yblock have different bellhousing.both have the same transmission.

pull one plug wire of at a time.if the problem is in the crank or cylinder the noise will ease or go away.

ive seen 55 trucks with the front sump pan and people said they never came this way.said the pan wouldnt clear the crossmember in front of it.

if your planning on using your clutch you will need one drilled for a 10 inch clutch.i dont know any way to tell just by looking

you can use the 6 flywheel but it only uses a 9 1/2 clutch.it will do the job unless your really going to abuse it.the 272 will use a 10 inch if you find a flywheel.

you may be looking at a 6 cyl one which has a short arm.pumps for your car are easy to find.

you have to use v8 mounts.and rad.6 mounts look the same but will set your motor back.done lots of these.

ive used the truck mounts.you have to shim them 1/2 inch where they bolt onto the motor.there is a set thats suppose to fit without any work but i dont remember what they came of.im sure someone will.

i dont know if your 64 has a pcv valve or not if it does it has to be hooked up and working or the seal will leak.
