Re: How to ship heavy OEM parts

Rest assured I was not and would never doubt Steve and Cyndi. Not sure where you got the idea that I was complaining about their shipping box or the Mitchells in general.

I was ONLY making...

Re: How to ship heavy OEM parts

Good job Bob. Your crate looks stronger than the one my Mitchell was shipped in and it arrived safely (but notice a couple of 2x6 braces are broken). Of course it didn't go overseas either.

Re: Clutch pedal adjustment for "play"

Here is a picture of what Mike is referring to. Not fun driving home with no clutch.

Re: Electronic ignition advise

Maybe so but I was referring to the Pertronix Ignition module being ruined if you leave the ignition on.

Re: Electronic ignition advise

Do Pertronix Ignitor still have the issue of burning out if the key is left on? I remember that was the main issue with them.

I have a Pertronix Ignitor III in my '55 Ford that is awesome and have...

Re: 1930 Coupe front end shimmy

That front spring shackle concerns me. It may not be the cause of the shimmy but it needs to be addressed. If that is a import they are prone to breakage and by the looks of yours it could be....

Re: Vintique

That's exactly what I did, returned the junk Vintique Cowl Light Arms (https://modelastore.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=4343) and bought some good used ones from Bert's and had them...

Re: Boy, does this hit close to home

Well I'm with Chap I guess. But I don't think my wife would give me that ultimatum. I think she likes me for some reason.

Either that or she just wants me to stay out in the garage. :p :p

Re: Vintique

I have posted these pictures before of cowl light arms made by Vintique. I don't believe this is a case of not willing "to pay the price" as they are over $100. This is just crappy manufacturing.

Re: Accessory fuse panel

Here ya go, Jim. Took me a while to find it. I have had this fuse box on my Town Sedan for ~4 years and I could not locate it in my purchases.

I fabbed the mount out of a flat piece of thin...

Re: Accessory fuse panel

Whoa! That fuse panel from Snyder's is a little on the expensive side.

I got this 6 fuse panel off eBay for ~ $12. I like it because it has little LEDs to indicate which fuse is blown. Turn...

Re: Changing Grease Fittings to Type

I use a needle tip on the old style grease fillings and on the modern fittings I can't get a straight shot at (like on the Mitchell rear drive shaft coupling)..

Re: A Big Thanks to Mr. Endy

It sure does!!:eek: Except the one on Vince's site is a front shackle. I suspect both ends are junk. I ordered the USA made set from Snyder's. Doesn't look original but I would rather go for...

A Big Thanks to Mr. Endy

Thanks for the heads up Tom. I pulled the rear end on my Town Sedan today to install my Mitchell :D. On the advice of Tom Endy I pulled the axle without the spring. Glad I did. Just as Tom mentioned...

Re: Rectangle side view mirror

I use 5" round mirrors and I was surprised the difference it made. I use the 5" United Pacific S/S heads that fit the hinge mirrors.

No, this is not true. Both filament do not light in the high beam position. In the high position, the brighter filament should light. The brighter (high beam filament) should be positioned as the...

Re: odd rear brake drum 30 coupe

No and Yes. No, New drum doesn't fit AR brakes. Yes you can get a new drum and hub for your rear end, which as stated already, is not AR. Contact Randy (Mel) Gross above. 714-292-8660
