You're probably past this point by now, but here's a trick I've used to remove grease seals. Take a small drill bit and VERY CAREFULLY drill a small hole in the seal. Then thread in a small sheet...

Windage is the resistance from the air/oil mist that gets churned up in the crankcase. Think about the air being moved inside the crankcase by the pistons going up and down, and the oil draining...

If I am reading the drawing correctly, the unloaded spring is 1-5/8" - 1-11/16" long. 60 lbs will compress it to 1-1/8". So the spring rate is 107-120 lb/in?
