Re: Dana 44 2.72:1 ring & pinion

Thanks rotorwrench,

I mailed Randy's some days ago but haven't heard back. They don't show the 2.72:1 ratio, but maybe they know who might carry them.

This company offer rebuilt Corvette rear...

Re: Dana 44 2.72:1 ring & pinion

Thanks Sal,

Yes, 2.72:1 was the highest gearing (low number) from DANA.
Drivetrain Spec.had nothing on their site, but I have sent an email just in case.

Re: turn signals

I have decided on the BOSCH Classic turn-signal switch # 0 341 810 013 with integrated headlight-flasher function (right picture)
I will make a housing similar to the VW assembly.

Re: REAR VIEW MIRRORS for AA TRUCK

Hello!
Since the bracket arm will be 10+ inches, I'm afraid the hinge mount version will be too weak and flexy, so I think it will be better to install the bracket on the hinge pillar instead and...

Re: REAR VIEW MIRRORS for AA TRUCK

You are absolutely right Bob, but as you said it's close enough.
It struck me that a marine stanchion would be the perfect rod. Just make the hinge mount, weld it on and you'll have a beautiful...

Re: REAR VIEW MIRRORS for AA TRUCK

I think it would be an easy thing to make a mirror bracket like AA-17697-B. Machine a tapered rod and weld on the fittings in each end and this bracket will fit the 6x10 mirror I suggested.

Re: REAR VIEW MIRRORS for AA TRUCK

I've looked at the original mirrors that were available, https://aafords.com/aa-body-types/body-details/mirrors/ but they are too small and I think that's a safety issue. I drive my truck frequently...

You are right Bill!
The bias tires do contact at the bottom, but they don't seem to rubb any. I believe they only touch gently with no rubbing since there are no motion between them. I can not see...
