Re: Crank shaft pulley wobbles

Re: Vintique

Found an old timer in Manteca, plus another there and one in Modesto. On a good day its an hour to one and a half away and I have seen the good old boys work. Took six months but he did a coupe hot...

Re: Vintique

So where is the alternative vender since Labaron Bonney gave us a pass? I don't see any-one advertising to fill their spot but not only that, I drove to San Leandro and south Hayward looking for a...

Re: Another Upholstery Question

Thanks for all the help and encouragement. I'm sure some think I'm nuts for straying from stock but I have to satisfy two of us and we happen to prefer the pleated look and frankly never knew the car...

Re: Another Upholstery Question

Rotowrench, that sounds doable. So if I order the 30/31 cover and add about 5/8 of an inch of extra batting over the seat area it should work. I'm thinking of cutting a piece of new carpet the size...

Another Upholstery Question

So I seem to have the wrong upholstery in my roadster. Both the rumble seat and the drivers seats have pleated upholstery. I have never questioned that, not paid any attention until recently when I...

Re: 1931 model a running rough.

if you have a known good coil, I'd put that on. Someone near you may loan you one just to test if that is the problem. Somehow we seem to accumulate a few over the years.

Re: 1931 model a running rough.

6V or 12V? Sound like it could be a condenser also. If 12 Volt system, do you have the correct coil? Feel the coil when the car starts and later when it begins to misbehave. Be careful though, they...

Re: 29 Roadster seat question (Upholstery)

Brent, I tried to find Marcos site for his tips. Wondering do I have to disassemble the cushion (spring) that I get from Snyder's to wrap each spring with burlap? Looks like they were all wrapped...

Re: 29 Roadster seat question (Upholstery)

Okay, I ordered a new spring cushion from Snyders this morning and am about to order the seat back and seat cushion material as made up by CarTouche. They won't be open until the 5th so I didn't get...

29 Roadster seat question (Upholstery)

A number of years back, as I was entering my roadster, I leaned in, put my fist onto the seat and proceeded to enter the drivers compartment, just as I had done numerous times prior. This time my...

Re: Model A, early V8 steering stabilizer

I have owned two cars with them. They bent the tie rod on both cars. took them off and adjusted the tow in on one, on the other took it off and rebuilt the entire front end. Both drove fine and no...

Re: blown fuse problem

I run a 30 Amp circuit breaker on both my cars. Roadster is 6V + grd, the coupe is 12 V - grd. Both have alternators and for the last several months no problems with either. On the 6V, I do pull the...

Re: "600w" trans lube foamy.

I turn my hearing aids off while driving the A's. They run quiet and the shifts are silent. Now if I can just get my wife to quit panicking every couple of miles.

Re: Borg Warner OD Question

the lever shifts it manually in and out of overdrive. It doesn't matter which way it points while installing. What is destructive is driving backwards with the overdrive engaged. I use a fail-safe...

Re: A question about colors

I have a roadster, Sierra blue and Washington blue. Many people look at it and see the car as two tone, one being a light blue with the mold lines being a darker blue with a pin stripe centered on...

Re: What are some of the counter intuitive things you have learned about a Model A?

One thing that I found that surprised me was that the only fuel filter that doesn't come back to bite you, other than the screens that were stock, is the little pencil filter that fits into the fuel...

Re: 1 lb Antigravity

I'm more concerned with burning out my alternator though if left on the 6V coil circuit would overheat rapidly also. Have burned out a coil with "built in" resistor on my coupe. Bought it and told...

Re: To rebuild or not to rebuild - that is the question.

With one side there and the other missing, my guess is that there is a reason which may involve taking the body off the frame to straighten back to specs. I'm no expert, but I did do one and it took...

Re: 1 lb Antigravity

There are any number of jumper battery solutions. I have a small one that is 12 volt but it will kick over my six volt system quite handily and doesn't kill my alternator. I'll try to remember to dig...

Re: To rebuild or not to rebuild - that is the question.

I would first get to know my car. Make it drive as well as your abilities can and take it for a few runs to see how it behaves. Do change all of the fluids first and check the timing and all the...

Re: Bendix Spring Snapped...Normal?
