If it has a fuse holder and fuse down by the starter pull the fuse and make sure it’s clean.
That location gets oil vapors from the crankcase vent and can cause resistance between the fuse and...

I would drill the hole in the bracket to the proper size and then use a bolt or the screw that attaches to the swing arm to pull the press in nut into the bracket.

Float level set to high will cause this. Look in the carb throat with a mirror and flashlight and see if fuel is dripping out of the main jet discharge tube in the center of Venturi.

Make sure have the bed wood in before you put that panel in. Getting to the front wood bed bolts with that panel in is next to impossible.

Nylon lock nuts are not allowed in the engine compartment of an airplane in most circumstances.
