Re: Something is not right!

What am I not understanding here?? You have them threaded together and you have TOO MUCH (?) toe IN? According to my miscalculations you would need to spread the wheels to get to 1/16. how are you...

Re: Title Trouble ??

Like Franchise 24 posted, we need an out of state inspection to get a title for a vehicle from out of state. However, this doesn't necessarily mean a trip to the BMV inspection site. In our area, at...

Re: Not Secure

I recently started getting the notice that only secure content was displayed unless I allow all of it. This happened to me on Smokstak when they changed to a secure server. Has this site always been...

Re: Weird fuel issue keeping me from driving my coupe. Any ideas?

In small engine applications, there is a different filter for gravity feed systems than the ones with a fuel pump.

Re: Looking for Some Help. Not Model A

If yours is 8 5/8, it would be a half inch smaller. That's quite a bit.

Re: Misfire at high revs

Since we can't hook the scanner to it, how about a vacuum gauge? I haven't seen a sticky valve mentioned yet. Dare I say add MMO in the gas??

Re: West Kentucky Region Model A Restorers Forum Open

You could ask your question here. There are probably a few here who know about a model A.

Re: Simpl question for the right person------maybe

the opposite could also be the case. Maybe he has a resistor with his old coil and the new coil doesn't require one. Then you wouldn't have enough voltage to run the new coil.

Re: Removing stuck parts

My trick for pistons is to pour an inch or so of Kerosene in the bore. Diesel fuel will work, just don't use gasoline. Clean/scrape around the edges of the pistons first. Use a piece of paper as a...

Re: Door pops open

I'd think a ratchet strap would be the best option. More secure than a bungee and easy to open and close.

Re: Setting points...retard or advance position...

Spark happens when the points open. If the gap is too close, the points open later making the timing more retarded. If the points are open too far they open early and make the timing advanced. If you...

Re: Valve springs

A leak down test won't show a bad spring because the valve is forced down by the air pressure.

Re: Just when I thought I understood A timing...

I think I would take the crank gear off and hang it on the wall as a reminder of what can bite you in the butt. Then, get one that at least has a chance of being right and marked right off the bat.

Re: An odd clutch problem that's new to me!!!

Marshall, when you say the bearing is locked against the gear, are you talking counter gear or input gear? Before you pull the trans apart, check the endplay in the shafts. You wouldn't want the...

Re: An odd clutch problem that's new to me!!!

The fact that ther car rolls in neutral and the engine spins with the clutch in limits the problem to the input shaft or countershaft. Something could have been riding around in the trans and never...

Re: The new one from germany

Would they have put the separate braking systems on the overseas cars before releasing it in the states? Are there any records of the switchover on overseas production?

Re: Is anyone else having this trouble?

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one with this problem. If there is more than 1 pic, clicking through all of them brings them up the second time through.

Re: How many opening/closing cycles is a Model-A hood good for??

Good question and one I don't have an answer for. I'd say from your observation that the answer will be directly proportionate to how well the hinges are lubed. I can't recall ever seeing a hinge...

Re: Early 28 center bumper emblem

The ebay one looks more like the one Mark posted. I'd question the NOS. The back clamp looks like it's had a washer against it.

Re: 2 tooth, 31 box and mis-centered steering wheel

Have some wiggle the wheel while you get down and look. Probably a tie rod end or a wheel bearing.
