Re: 32 doors

To make it easier to get in and out. 32 3W is the deluxe model and had them while the std 5w did not. All 33/4 models both std and dlx had them. All v8 and 4cyl fordors had them for rear doors...

Re: My 1939 Foed Deluxe Vert w/Rumble Seat

The center bolt on those springs was a lube point I believe from maybe 37.

Re: Gas leaking thru Sight Glass

I would add one thing to the advice above, drain the tank completely and pick out the remains of old sight glass gaskets/rings that have deteriorated and fell to the bottom of the tank. They will...

Re: Hood prop '37

As a longtime 39 std and 37 owner I can vouch for the caution. Because of that I use a broomstick. Sooner or later you will forget and whamo.

Re: 34 bumper guard?

Original acc. ones were fine threaded, the repop ones are course threaded and have to be double nutted to stay tight on the bumper bar.

Re: Columbia vs Mitchell overdrive

Ford torque tube was never designed to carry the rotational stress of a gear drive. When shifted properly, a Columbia works just fine. Using 34 housings, a spacer plate must be added. I used a...

2. Flywheel loose.
3. Crank end play.
4. Camshaft end play or loose cam bearing.

Re: KR Wilson spring spreader

I use a porta power that has the correct ends in the kit. I think Northern Hyd and Harbor Freight carry those kits. Put the curved ends on pipes with the hyd jack in the middle and pump away.

Re: I Need A Temperature Guage ???

Why not use a motometer in the radiator cap, thats something that has worked well before A's were even built.

Re: 1942-48 Convertible top snap supplier?

I believe there are some special break away snaps at the rear on both sides of the 46-8 tops. Without them the top rips in that area when put down.

Re: 1927 Touring carburetor help, new owner

Appears to be a std carb. Nothing to rebuild unless it has a rubber tip on the float needle and if it does, replace it. Biggest problem with carb. on Ts that have been setting for years is a rusty...

Re: 1935 Experimental intake

wonder what they did for a fuel pump and why the vac plate under the carb. That set up might be a real bear with vapor lock with what appears to be the feed pipe location at the bottom of the float...

Re: 1932 The Deuce, Dually, Dump Truck

This should go without saying but if you are not familiar with truck rims, when those tires are mounted, they should be in a cage when inflated and a clamp on inflater used. Clean those woven...

Re: 1932 The Deuce, Dually, Dump Truck

Woven linings are better than molded linings and those look good. You have lots of "correct" stuff on that truck.

Re: 1932 The Deuce, Dually, Dump Truck

Body lines matching on the door and cab, good sign, most doors would be drooping. That color combination is the same as my tudor and would look good repainted as most trucks were red or black.

Epay

Anyone noticed how screwed up ebay is now. I have yet to figure out where all the parts are listed if any. Listings seem not to change day to day.

Re: 1932 1933 1934 truck restoration or hot rod

Trk lights show up from time to time on epay. Car lights are plated and truck lights are painted. I used 32 car lights on my 34 pu because they came with it and do look better than the trk lights.

Re: 1932 1933 1934 truck restoration or hot rod

I think you should be able to see in thru the spark plug holes and tell if there has been any water damage. Those are GM guide headlights. There is a lot that can be done with a trk like that when...
