Re: Any electronic experts out there

Try disconnecting the alternator. Perhaps it has a problem. Just trying to think outside of the box - had a car that the lights would flicker and it was the alternator. Probably does not make...

Re: No electricity. No crank. No horn

ModelLeaf - If your carb float valve does not seal the gas off completely (a common float valve issue), doing this will keep gas in the fuel line from creating a slight drip as that fuel leaks into...

Re: Temperature Gauge Leak

That is also what I have assumed to be going on. But would rather too much bypass instead of not enough and blow up cylinder 4. I do not do much driving in the early spring and late fall, so as I...

Re: Speaking of Auto Part Stores I'll share my experience.

This was not a price issue He said they were priced fairly, usually a little more on the inexpensive side in comparison to the local Auto Parts suppliers, and of course the car dealers. It was the...

Re: Temperature Gauge Leak

Tried a different thermostat, and tested with a thermometer in a pan of water on the stove. I have a Bergs radiator, with 3 1/8 in bypass holes, probe is in the block/head outlet neck, thermostat...

Re: Checking 6 volt neg ground output with multi meter

To insure you have a good battery, here is an inexpensive battery load tester. Does 6 and 12v. A lot of auto parts chains and farm supply store do not have 6v testers. You can do the same thing...

Re: Any electronic experts out there

There is another option if your issue is due to radiated noise, and is not conducted noise through the wiring into the flasher unit.

You can try to shield the sensitive components. We do...

Re: Any electronic experts out there

Ryan, Have you tried running dedicated grounds? Have heard that sometimes that strobing is caused in led lights because they require a good solid ground due to their low current draw.

Re: Any electronic experts out there

X2.

Was reading the reviews, some complained they did not help with LED shop style lighting. These will only help with noise generated/emanating from the wiring they are attached to. In LED...

Re: Speaking of Auto Part Stores I'll share my experience.

Old thread, but just now saw it. Everyone has their favorite parts vendor. My local mechanic who I use because of his reputation and because I have never had an issue with his work for the past 15...

Re: Zenith carb

Some do that and report good results. Some will attach a chain or wire to one, and put it inside of the tank, with the chain/wire up through the filler neck for removal/cleaning. If you put it...

Re: Starter Switch Alignment

If the Bendix gets stuck engaged, , a trick is with the motor off and car in gear, rock the car reverse/forward until the Bendix releases.. Most of the time the Bendix will release

If having a...

Re: Temperature Gauge Leak

When quite cool out in early spring and late fall, with a thermostat, my gauge only gets up to about 140. I assume it is due to a combination of cold air on the motor, and the bypass holes I've...

Re: Black gummy sludge in intake ports

Renner's Corner is one oft he better places to buy Carb Parts - they flow test their Jets before shipping. Many places have parts/jets that are not correct causing teh engine to run lean or most...

Re: Manifold heater question(s)

The only real downside to most heater manifolds is they block the distributor screw/lock-nut. You have to pull the manifold to remove the distributor.

Re: Zenith Carb. Issue

another option in case a good cleaning does not work. Try swapping in a flow tested jet kit, Renner's Corner is frequently mentioned om the FB as having good flow tested jets. Is not expensive.

Re: Zenith Carb. Issue

Since it was new, before messing with it much, call the vendor. They may have suggestions, and if it turns out to be the carb, a good vendor would want to be involved in case they want to exchange...

Re: Will turn over but won't start

Very true, but is another quick way to know if the issue is fuel or spark. If no pop on starting fluid then it is electrical/ignition. I do it this way with lawn mowers, sometimes is enough to get...
