Re: 1940 3/4 ton fuel tank and seat

I agree! I could get some seat pictures in the morning. Can we see a few pics of the whole truck? I love the 40-41 big trucks.

Somebody needs this

I was goofing off this Saturday morning and thought I would help a barner in Ohio find an F2 pickup box. I have found some dandys on CL as they were made into a utility trailer. Anyhow, this showed...

Re: f2 truck bed

OK, just did a local search for fun. Dang this one would really get a chevy guy drooling. It's from the dry Eastern side of our state. Just an example....

Re: f2 truck bed

You need to check craigslist for trailers. I still see a lot of them in side yards etc made from old truck boxes. I will keep my eyes peeled, but shipping from here would be tough on the wallet!

Wanted 42-47 jailbar truck grille panel

I have gathered up some nice jailbar grille bars and now hate to bolt them to my somewhat lumpy front panel. Do you have a good one? Gary 360 376 2449 or PM Thanks!

Re: Ford Barn intro

I'm with the rest of them. Looks like a nice project and don't over do it. They are a great truck. The 4 speed crash box is actually silky smooth when you get the feel of it. Two thumbs up from Orcas...

Re: '40 front fenders

Ok, since it's all about that great 42-47 pickup sheet metal, here's where we are today. Sun was shining in front of the shop and I hated all the bent and twisted jailbars on the grill I had so today...

Re: Fan Belt Tension Adjuster....

I use a 2x4 with a long diagonal cut on one end. I really like this coupling nut thing and can't wait to copy it. Thank you Bruce!

Re: Electric wiper conversion

I think the kits are a good idea. I tried to save money by installing 2 electric 79.00 wiper motors like you see in a boat windshield or in a backhoe cab. A lot of swearing and butchery and in the...

Re: Marvel Classic Motor Oil

Funny, and I'm there with so many of you but this thread was started about a Motor Oil, not an additive. I had never heard of the motor oil that Marvel has introduced until this thread came out. I...

Re: Marvel Classic Motor Oil

I recently placed a 210 cu in cummins 6 cyl turbo diesel into my '47 tonner. When it was on the run stand I filled the 1 qt fuel tank with various 'fuels' just for fun. It ran great on diesel, loved...

Re: 1938 Tonner Bed Floor Question

Not to flog a dead horse, but I was looking through some really old pics last night and came across this. It's the 9' bed I mentioned earlier. You can see it was originally a lighter greenish blue....

Re: '40 front fenders

Been dragging out more parts and pieces. I had a stack of hoods that looked like an armadillo, and the bottom one was the best. I am a visual person and I have to keep a project looking like progress...

Re: 36 Can't Stop The Oil Pan Drain Plug Drip

Couldn't agree more. What an amazing material. Oil seals, accelerator pumps. I used it for a rod bearing 20 years ago for a one lung engine on a Bean spray pump.

Re: '40 front fenders

I thought those guys got all nasty and mean if it wasn't 'pre-war'.... I kind of stopped doing the FTE when way too many builds were mustang 2 front clips and slammed to the basement and 22" wheels....

Re: 36 Can't Stop The Oil Pan Drain Plug Drip

Once on a family trip we stopped at a jiffy lube for an oil change. 200 miles later we stopped for lunch and drip drip drip. Bad. It was easy to see they put NO gasket at all on the plug. I asked my...

Re: 1938 Woodie - closing gap in wood frame

I would think it's best to draw the parts back together. Is this a concourse restoration? There are some pretty neat hidden mechanical fasteners such as 'tite-joint connectors' that may be able to be...

Re: '40 front fenders

I should be done stripping the frame this afternoon. At that time I will clean up the rubble, sort out some parts and store it away for a few months. I now have the basics to work out a front clip to...
