Re: Ford trucks and other stuff
Now those are trucks to be admired. I like old cars but love old trucks of any size or vintage. The truck thing probably comes from being a log truck driver when I was young.

Re: Adjustable lifter problem
Put me down as a fan of solid lifters and grind to length valves. So far I've not had any of them get out of adjustment.
Just my $ 0.02 worth.

Re: 46 Ford pickup gas tank
I have an extra tank but I'm not sure what it's condition is. I'll try to dig it out today and look it over. If it looks at all usable/repairable I'll send you a PM to see if you want it.

Re: Wildfire evacuation
There is some speculation that some of the fires here in Oregon are arson related as several started between 0100 and 0500 hours the same day along major roads. Several small towns have been...

Re: Found On Road Dead
I had my truck with the front mounted distributor die mysteriously a couple of times. I finally figured it out. I had serviced the fan hub and one drop of oil would fall on the distributor run in...

Drag link 1945 1/2 ton pickup
I need to replace/repair the drag link on my 45 1/2 ton, the fixed ball end is loose. I've done a search here and looked at many posts and it appears there is no good solution. Some seem to suggest...

Re: 46 Ford pickup 16 inch wheels
That was the size that was on my 45 pickup when I got it. Original wheels in usable condition are hard to find, at least where I live. Most that I have found are cracked or bent. I'm still needing...

Re: sealed bearing fan hub
Lots of good ideas, thanks.
I"m leaning heavily towards the solution that Art Newland used, simple and easy to do and looks original.

Re: sealed bearing fan hub
B&S; I'm just trying to do a direct replacement for the oil type hub on my very stock 45 pickup with the usual 59 AB motor and stock type radiator etc. I have a couple of the stock hubs and haven't...

sealed bearing fan hub
I'm considering making a sealed bearing fan hub for my 59 AB motor and was wondering if anyone knew of an engineered drawing for one. If I can find a drawing it will save me reinventing the wheel as...

Re: Wheel stands
I used 4 15" rims and 4 14" rims to hold the wife's Corvette up when I pulled the transmission. Jack one wheel up put a 15 " rim down flat under it, do the same with the other three. Then jack up a...

Re: Floor shift in 53 f-100
Yes, that would be a truck. I've never seen a 3-2-2 setup like you have. I don't quite understand the need for the two speed differential. I'm sure it makes for interesting shifts.

Re: Floor shift in 53 f-100
Being a truck driver when I was young, I hauled logs and later propane, to me a truck has to have at least one stick, sometimes more, coming out of the floor for the transmission/transmissions to be...

Re: Antique Insurance a little off Topic
I started with J C Taylor via my Farmers agent. Collision insurance only was about $400.00. I called Hagerty and my yearly cost dropped considerably. I also have AAA so I have roadside...

Re: Lathe with 3 Ford transmissions in Iowa
I've run several lathes and a radial drill press that used transmissions to change speed but that one beats anything I've seen. I tried to post a picture of a 32"x 144" Lodge & Shipley that I've put...

I had continuous problems with condensers on my 59 AB until I moved the location up to the coil. Since moving it I've put perhaps 5000 miles on and not had a problem. Prior to moving to the coil I...

Re: Speedometer needle
Be careful as the needle is aluminum and will bend/break quite easily. A clock repair person could pull and replace it quickly and safely.
