Re: Early Ford v/8 sales, Inc.

I bought a rebuilt 8BA from them along with some other items. Nice people, good service. Engine runs great. Highly recommend.

Re: Early Ford V8 Sales, Inc.

At the time I got mine there was a charge of $500 if you did not have a rebuildable core. You could have yours rebuilt or just swap for another rebuilt block. I don't know if this has changed since...

Re: Early Ford V8 Sales, Inc.

I am running one of their 8BA engines in my '40. It has been installed about 4 years. Very happy with the engine and the people there. It was close enough for me to take them my old engine and...

Re: smooth sidewall tires

Cooper Trendsetters have about the smoothest sidewalls I have found. I just installed a set on my 1951 Ch**y.

Re: Installing glove box and door in 1940 Ford coup

rgmcspadden (http://fordbarn.com/forum/member.php?u=80096),

To keep this on topic, I have a '40 with a glove box door. It was purchased in 1968 for me (I was 18 at the time) by my Dad in...

Re: Parts prices are killing our hobby

I hate Misfit Garage, but I watched 2 episodes last week when they were "flipping" a 1940 Deluxe Tudor Sedan. Here is their "costs":

Original purchase price (quoted on show) ...

Re: how to tellthe diff between DOT 3 & DOT 5 brake fluid

When I rebuilt my '40 back in the early 1980s I put dot 5 in a completely new brake system. New cylinders, new lines and hoses, and rebuilt master. I am still waiting for the first problem. Never...

Re: 8V electrical system?

I ran my 1940 on 8 volts from 1968 until the total rebuild in 1982. I was not on the internet at that time so I didn't know the difference. It was just what people did back then.

Re: Information needed about Ad-Hunter??

Not familiar with ad-hunter, but Search Tempest sounds similar and works great for me.

Re: 1951 f1 on Velocity

I just caught a fast glance of "metric" stamped on the bottom pan. Some expert here should identify it from the size and shape, but not me.

Re: Wheeler Dealer blows it with F1

In some of the English filmed shows, Edd will sometimes tell the viewers how much a "specialist" would have charged for the job and how he "saved" all that money by doing it himself. It is still one...

What is this bracket?

I did not want to hijack dixiedeluxe's thread about a Mercury in a '40, but I do have a question about 19fordy's photo in his reply to dixiedeluxe. I have a 1940 that has had a 8ba installed since I...

Re: Coolant Stop Leak Options

I traveled this same road. Ended up with an engine that still ran hot and a plugged radiator. New engine and new radiator fixed everything.

Re: Gunfight at the OK Corral

When mine sounded like that, it turned out to be worn bushings in the distributor that was causing the misfires.
