If you can pull the torque tube rearward you can fix a C-clamp on the outside of the drive shaft and use it as a handle to pull the shaft rearward until it is clear of the U-joint.

For the 37-41 85HP oil pump there is no gasket between the bottom cover for the gears and the pump body. Adding one in this location will decrease oil pressure.
