The fuel sender can be removed thru the access opening. The opening was designed for that purpose.Here is a link to what a 33-34 sender looks like.

All Ford pass cars 32-40 had an access opening that had a lid held in place by a screw. Maybe someone sealed it on your car at some time. If the original sender is in place on your tank gaining...

Here is a current listing on the HAMB.The seller states its a 32 BB dump truck but clearly its a '34.The hood side emblems appear to be '35-'36....

Karl is correct.In fact 32-35 had a non vented cap.36-40 was vented.Here are pic of the back side of those caps.The left is 32-35 and right 36-40 that shows the vent hole.

DD, Found it partially done in PA in 2016.Shipped it here w/LBB interior in boxes inside and finished it.1.5 gals of PPG acrylic black lacquer and thinner was included.Rebuilding the sugarcoated 36...

Thicker gasket.My '33 did that and I found some thick oil impregnated cork gasket material.No more leaks.
