The owner of Auto Restorations unfortunately developed Alzheimer's Disease, and they are out of business.

Also, if you go the T-5 route, consider reading the following thread I posted a while back...

Re: I'm Baffled by this!

Hi, Getting back to everyone on the noise issue and this "baffle". First of all, it is not a baffle or slinger like used in the original transmission. This is used in a Mitchell transmission only...

Re: Zenith 13922 or 14991 ?

Bringing this back to life. Did anyone ever come to a conclusion as to which of these carburetors is better? One is small and was intended by Zenith to be used specifically for the Model A. The other...

Re: Camshaft timing gear rattling noise

Here's an update I received from Dan on December 11, 2016:

"Hi Phil- the cam gear cam today. In checking the teeth, the contact pattern is what is referred to as "cross bearing". This means the...

Re: Can incorrect main bearing oil grooves be filled in?

Yes, the groove goes right to the rear edge. Someone's bright idea I guess. I recall seeing a post a while back with the same issue and I believe one of our Senior members suggested filling it in....

Can incorrect main bearing oil grooves be filled in?

I purchased a used running '31 engine with low miles. Upon inspection I found it to be in very good shape. However the main bearing oil groove for the rear bearing has an additional groove cut in...

I used two books when rebuilding my engine:
The Model A...

I finally got around to swapping out the aluminum gear for a laminated one. There is no noise now. See the video below. I have driven it about 200 miles.
So far, so good.

Re: Camshaft timing gear rattling noise

I have a standard size laminated timing gear. James Rogers had suggested I try this a while back. I'm gonna give it a try. I will update when installed.
