Re: Considering buying a T
I have an 09 T touring, 28 A rpu and my avatar V8. They are all very different drives, but the T is the lively one. Light as a daisy, go-kart steering, super fast gear shift.
I've had the T 40yrs,...

Re: RH Drive Model A
My only problem with the RHD As I have driven is the centre gas pedal, find it uncomfortable holding my right leg over towards it. Of course that's the British built version, the Argentine version...

Re: Ultrasonic cleaner
Got one just big enough to hold a V8 Stromberg, with heat & timer. Does a great job, judging by all the muck in the bottom of the tank. Not done my A carb yet.

Re: 35 phaeton top
That cabriolet belongs to my pal Roger who lives 5 miles away. My avatar is the sister vehicle, Model 60 Coupe De Luxe. Both had their engines replaced in 1937 with tin-side V8-60s like those in the...

Re: Headlights for my '28
Second that. I have the same situation. You need to change reflectors and light switch to get parking lights + low/high beam. Question is..do you need parking lights?

Re: LED Headlights
Interesting comments from Keith. Only thing I can say is that the changeover on my VW didn't change the pattern and it passed inspection with the old style beam tester. My V8 is exempt inspection,...

Re: LED Headlights
Someone on the V8 forum was complaining that he hadn't seen an LED bulb that replicated the correct light pattern. But I have bulbs from a UK supplier in my V8 which look fine to me, I also have LEDs...

Re: Stromberg 81 vs 97, rebuild or new?
I completely stripped & rebuilt mine with the help of Clive @ Stromberg here in the UK, but I think parts were about $70 + a good day of my labour, and I bought a sonic cleaner - any excuse to buy a...

1935 drum with period wire wheel adaptor
These were used on Jensen prototype in 1935. Anyone seen these and recognise the maker? It has a spacer and adaptor with a taper with 3 keys and a central locking nut

Re: '35 Radiator / water out the tube
I have a repro radiator. It will empty itself to well below the top of the tubes, even though it runs very cold. I can't see the overflow in the top tank, I think it is too low so that the turbulent...

Re: Early '28 Model A - possible AR?
The politically correct term nowadays is E28. Brent doesn't define what DOES make an E28. I would think it is the brake system where the handbrake operates the same linkage as the footbrake. This...

Re: 6 volt LED headlights
I have LEDs in my VW camper and they focus perfectly. I also have them in my 35 coupe and can't see the difference in focus on the back wall of the garage, but I have yet to go out on the road...

Re: Stromberg e fire distributor
Worked fine for me once the engine was running, but I had starting problems on 6volt. I think the starter was causing voltage drop so the unit wouldn't energise. Gone back to a helmet.

Re: Anyone fitted a rear gas tank?
I'm not trying to make my A safe, just not quite so hazardous. The belly tanks don't work with original brakes. A rear tank just behind the axle like in my V8 wouldn't spill gas in my lap. I'm...

Anyone fitted a rear gas tank?
There was a horrific accident here last year when 2 men burnt to death in a 1930 coupe - the gas tank ruptured in a head-on collision. I have always worried about 10 galls of gas above my knees, and...

Re: 35 Tudor New Fuel Tank
Wish my tank had a breather, get terrible splashback problems when filling. Better folk than I will advise on gauges: the original use a different system to the modern replacement. I have an...
