Best to spray it on the car liberally a section at a time and wipe it off with the towel folding it as you go. Nothing works better or is softer and easier on the paint than old, as in well...

I'd use Meguiar's Final Inspection spray with a dry towel rather than a water-wet towel. You'll save yourself a step and may find that you do not need to wax it. The same goes for the wheels as...
