Re: AA-2042 Brake Adjust Shaft

I would think that Berts might also have them in good used condition as well. If not, I'm sure I can scare up a couple if you'd like.

Re: AA 4 speed transmission question .

You are right: my experience with one of my AAs is that the teeth on the input shaft and the internal teeth on the 3rd/4th gear were worn on a bit of an angle from having been “thrown” out of 4th...

Re: T-5 5 speed trans VS Mitchell overdrive

Has anyone here put a T5 in an AA or know of anyone who has? There is more room behind the stock transmission, 4-speed or 3-speed, but I don't know if it would be enough room to not have to fabricate...

Re: Model AA

Hi David and welcome! Happy to help any way I can. I’ve been fooling around with AA’s for most of my Model A life :-)

Re: Model AA trans parts

Try Bert's in Denver. They had a used input gear for one of my AA transmissions that for all intents and purposes looked NOS. Great folks to work with as well.

Re: Painted radiator shell

The painted carbon steel radiator shells were generally used throughout production for the commercial vehicles - pick up trucks, etc. The AA's had the same shell style as the A's from 1928-early/mid...

Re: lint on oil pump screen

I had the same sort of thing happen with a rope seal. It spread a surprising amount of lint that was eventually caught in the oil pump screen.

Re: Roadster with a Diesel engine...

Wick, I know this would be sacrilege, but I've often wondered if there would be a clean, neat way to put a Cummins 4BT in an AA so that it would look more or less stock from the outside and could be...

Re: Windshield Frame for '30 - '31 AA Flatbed

The A's (pickups) and AA's used the same cab, so unless the cab from the cowl back is from another manufacturer (an independent supplier, such as York Hoover), any windshield frame that would fit an...

Re: comecial painted truck rad shell

The AA shell might not fit. For mid 1930 and all of '31, the AA shells were deeper to accommodate the AA radiator with an extra row of tubes. It's easy to tell the difference between an A and AA...

Re: 1930 Ford Model AA truck

The AA should be fun and driving it for distances that short should be no problem, even if it has the low speed rear (6.6:1 versus 5.14:1). Most parts are relatively easy to find and the AA's share...

Re: Four speed to three speed switch.

As far as dialing in to the flywheel, I don't believe you'll have to worry about the bell housing (the housing to which the transmission is bolted). The housing that you have to be concerned with for...

Re: AA Front Brake Drums

The easy way to differentiate stamped steel from cast iron AA drums is to look at the rim. On the cast iron drums, there are two small squares 180 degrees apart. See the middle picture of Bob C's...

Re: Center caps for 30 AA rear drums

There are none made of which I'm aware. I would think that your best bet would be to try Bert's, the wanted section of the classifieds here, or eBay. The hub caps are around, but sometimes they are...

Re: Model AA versus Model A?

I think the best thing you could do is drive it. The AA's are a lot different compared to the cars and light trucks in how they drive and ride. They are also more unique in that, as many have rightly...

Re: One of 200

The open bumpers would suggest that it is one of the first 200 A's made.

Re: 30 AA Rear Brake Assembly

I agree with Tom. The emergency brake lining is too thick as it is and will need to be sanded thinner in order for the drum to go on. A pain but at least we can get the lining!
