pull off the boot that is not supposed to be there and use a screwdriver to short out the plug--the fire/electric discharge will go to ground

lead to block-correct, can be done easy if no insulator on plug wire, otherwise pull off one lead at a time till the popping stops. in a very rare instance you might get a crossfire if the wires are...

did you adjust the brake pedal to mc rod correctly? should have a little rattle and no end play when adjust correctly. pedal should move just a little before slack is gone

more pictures would be good. I have a 41 3/4 ton and a 51 3/4 ton both were/are stake beds. I made a few up grades on the 41, 51 Merc, 9" rear axle and self energizing brakes on front from a 48 up...

best in my opinion is adjustable pins, easiest to set up are the fixed pins-but these require a "fitting/running in" scenario to make them work. newer floating shoes do work the best

I made a set of tabs that keep the axle from coming out if it breaks. I think Vern Tardall has them.
