Pulled the field wire from the generator
touched the field with battery power
Generator works as advertised

You need to apply something that will stop the rust and keep it as is.
Possibly rubbing LPS3 into the rusted areas will stop the rust and not give you a...

I also read the other day that was also placed in charge of the Lincoln line after Henry purchased Lincoln

It appears that the pin, chrome piece simply needs to be placed onto the stud and held on by the set screw
I don’t see anything broken

Yes the stud holds the seat back to the base one on either side
Held with a cotter (split) pin

Best to start by a thorough cleaning to identify the source of the leak
Dye check developer can be used to find the leak at early stages
The leak location should be identified before removal

wouldn't a check valve in the bypass line help keep fuel pressure to the carb?
seems like with the electric pump running fuel pressure could be directed back towards the tank or back to the inlet...
